There
is no shortage of tradeshow exhibits. Depending on their budget,
the companies can
go in for pop ups, display systems, modular
exhibits, Truss systems or made-to-order custom exhibits. Much,
of course, depends on the tradeshow budgets of companies, and
the way they want to display their products.
The large corporations, which want their tradeshow booths to stand
out, go for high-end modular or customized displays while the
smaller companies with limited budgets settle for the more affordable
rental exhibits. In between are a range of companies that adopt
a mix-and-match strategy.
However, the 10 by 10-foot pop-ups continue to be the most popular
display for small and medium companies. These pop-up exhibits
are made of aluminum frames that fold like an accordion making
it easy to pack and transport them. Magnetic fabrics or plastic
panels that are used to cover the aluminum frames give the pop
up exhibits a dash of color and style.
A common pop up exhibit weighs
around 70 pounds, and can be carried in a large golf bag. The
only disadvantage of pop up exhibits is their limited flexibility.
The frame has to be opened in full for it to be stable. This limits
the possibility of pop up exhibits from being used in small spaces.
The panel exhibits, however,
do not suffer from this disadvantage. These exhibits, as the name
suggests, are made of several panels that can be folded in different
configurations. This allows the exhibitors to use panel displays
in different exhibition spaces. However, they are not easy to
assemble – a fact that discourages exhibitors from using
them too often.
Frameless exhibits are even lighter. They weigh
around 30 pounds, and can be assembled easily. However, they are
more suited to be used as backdrops, and not as the main exhibit.
Similarly, pipe and drape displays can be used as backdrops only.
The large corporations
prefer modular exhibits, as they convey more class. These exhibits
comprise tensile fabric structures and are supported by high-end
composites and laminates. A major advantage with modular exhibits
is that they can support large plasma screens and LCD panels,
which can be major differentiators at any tradeshow.
Another system that can support plasma or LCD panels is Truss.
These systems have bold and innovative designs, and can be used
to mount lights, projectors, etc with ease. Another advantage
of Truss systems is their high weight bearing capacity. This makes
them suitable for the display of heavy exhibits.
The most expensive of tradeshow exhibits are the custom exhibits.
These exhibits are made to order, and reflect the corporate philosophy
of the exhibitor. They stand apart from all other exhibits in
any tradeshow. Their only disadvantage is that a customer who
has seen them once may not be enchanted when he sees them again.
