Tradeshow
Booth Displays Are The Key To Visitor Response |
The
importance of tradeshow booth displays cannot be overstressed.
They can attract visitors,
repel visitors or create a general mood
of indifference. The time available with an exhibitor is too short:
seven seconds to be precise. In these seven seconds a visitor
can decide to enter a booth or walk past.
So, how does an exhibitor plan the booth display? The first is
to familiarize yourself with the location of the booth. If the
booth allotted to you happens to be a dead-end, or located behind
a poorly lit pillar, get it changed. The best booths are those
that are closest to the entrance.
The second is to create an open booth. Don't block the movement
of visitors by placing a table in front of the booth. Let the
visitors walk freely around the booth. Also, limit the number
of chairs and tables placed in the booth. No one likes to stand
behind unwieldy furniture to read what is written on the wall.
The third is to spread the display material evenly across the
booth. Don't give the visitors a reason to stand at one place,
and crane their necks to see a single exhibit. Let them walk around
the booth without creating unnecessary clusters.
The fourth is to create a unified appearance. Avoid multiple colors
or multiple textures. Ideally, the booth colors should be the
same as exhibit colors; if not, they should complement each other.
The fifth is to put up more lights than your immediate neighbors.
There is nothing more eye-catching than a bright, well-lit booth.
A dramatic overhead sign that can be seen from a distance will
make a visitor notice your booth. It may even encourage him to
walk to your booth to find out the source of attraction.
The sixth is to go for fewer exhibits. Put your best graphics
and photographs on display, but make sure that they are few in
number. A visitor does not like to read too much text, and will
be happy to see a striking photograph or a powerfully made graphic.
So, you must invest in striking photographs and eye-catching graphics.
Also make sure that the text that is used with graphics can be
read from a distance.
Finally, you must consider the booth display as the key to the
launch of a new product or promotion of existing products. For
this, you need to position the product or images of the product
prominently in the booth. You must also deploy trained staff to
talk about the product.
