There
is a huge industry that has grown up around trade shows and expos.
This industry
provides exhibitors with a range of tradeshow
exhibits that they can take on rent at rates that are 10 to 20
percent of the price of new exhibits.
Economy
is not the only advantage that trade show rentals provide.
They also give exhibitors a greater flexibility in deciding their
booth display. Exhibitors can choose from a range of rental trade
show exhibits to create an image that suits their companies most.
Further, they can change the display in the
next trade show by hiring a completely different set of exhibits.
This flexibility gives companies the advantage of putting up new
images without increasing their fixed costs. They also save themselves
the bother of cleaning, repairing, and storing trade show exhibits.
This becomes the responsibility of the vendor, who has to make
sure that the exhibits are supplied in a fully usable condition.
The exhibitor also does not have to worry about
the costs of carting expensive equipment across the country. It
is, once again, the vendor who has to transport the exhibits to
the venue. Another advantage that comes with rental trade exhibits
is size. An exhibitor can rent those exhibits that mesh best with
the booth dimensions.
Further, the savings that the exhibitor makes
on the purchase and maintenance of trade show exhibits can be
used for giveaways and booth promotion. It can also be used for
hiring more booth space at the next tradeshow.
These are big pluses,
and all first time exhibitors must make use of them. However,
these advantages get nullified if a company participates in more
than a dozen trade shows a year. In such a case, the company needs
to work out what is more expensive – renting trade exhibits
or buying them outright. The company also needs to look at the
customization of its display requirements. It is easier to customize
the display by buying the exhibits than by renting them.
